Tutoring is a supportive space where you can

  • Practice with course concepts and difficult course materials
  • Learn strategies that improve understanding
  • A partnership between the student and peer tutor
  • A place to ask questions without judgment

Tutoring is not

  • Homework completion or answer-giving
  • A replacement for class or studying
  • Just for students who are failing
  • A place to get quick answers without effort
  • Last-minute exam fix

Come to tutoring if you

  • Want to stay ahead in the course
  • Feel stuck on certain topics
  • Need more practice before an exam or submitting an assingment
  • Want to check your understanding of course content
  • Need a refresher on course concepts

Bring

  • Class notes or slides
  • Homework or practice problems
  • Specific questions or topics you want to review

Expect

  • To talk through what you understand and where you feel stuck
  • Work through problems step-by-step with a tutors guidance
  • To leave feeling more confident and ready to tackle your course work
